Perth Getaway Season 4

Had a good sleep last night? Well, you better did because I'll be taking you to city today and we have to do some walking. The weather today is fine. Not too cold. Just nice. So you can leave behind your thick jackets if you want to. Oh, the bus will be here soon. Come on, let's walk out to get the bus. Don't fret. The bus stop is just 3 minutes away. Get your small change ready yea. AUD3.60 for an adult to the city (that will be RM 10.80). Keep your ticket in case you still want to travel with public transport like buses and ships. It's FOC within the first 2 hours. Now, are you cracking your mind trying to think and recall where to get this kind of service in Malaysia? Nah, don't be stupid. You cant find this kind of service anywhere in Malaysia.

See the pole he's leaning? That's the bus stand

Cam whoring while waiting for the bus. The grass were so bally!

Inside the bus, on the way to city

The bus service here is very punctual. Unlike Malaysia, whereby if you miss the bus, then you will have to wait for another bloody 45 minutes or even more than an hour. Oops, I'm comparing again. No offence yea. I'm just expressing my thoughts. Honest critics lead to improvements, right? But there's something which you can only find in Malaysia but not elsewhere. Guess what it is. Oh come on, just a wild guess! No idea? Really? Aiks...it's uncivilized barbarians! You cant find it anywhere else!

Have you guys ever notice those barbarians rushing to board the buses or trains or LRTs in Malaysia? They were dashing and pushing with each other as if rushing for their reincarnation. Terrible, I tell you. If you never experienced it before, try taking a public transport during the peak hours. You will know what I mean by then. I think I'm slowly 'trained' to become one of them. Shit! Australians are much more courteous and civilized than Malaysians. They do not rush to get onto public transports. Shame on you, Malaysians! (as if I'm not one :p) Alright, the journey will take around 40 minutes. So, enjoy the scenery.

Here we are, in the City of Perth

Got that English feeling? Wrong! We're not in London, my dear. We're still in Perth. This street is called London Court.

Are you hungry already? Hold on. We'll have Korean delights later on, ok? Just a few more streets to go. Meanwhile, enjoy the city view and compare the cleanliness with that of KL. I cant find a single rubbish on the street here. But in KL, goodness gracious! Rubbish of various sizes, colours and smells can be seen everywhere no matter which angle you turn your eyes to. Sorry for complaining again but this is the fact! Such an eye sore. Again, shame on you, Malaysians!

Hay street & Murray street

Ok! Ok! Stop nagging. We're about to reach Arirang soon. Before that, check out this hawker. He sells good hot dogs, I suppose. AUD2 for one. It's not expensive if you don't convert to RM.

Mmm~~~ Mmm~~~Smells good

Here we are, at Arirang, famous Korean restaurant which serves tasty Korean cuisine. The workers are all Koreans as well, with small eyes...hahaha!

Arirang

Clockwise from top left : Bibimbap, Hotpot with rice, Chilli beef with rice & Chilli chicken with rice

Charged up now? Good. Let's snap a couple of this cathedral-resembling building.
Come, follow me. Let's go to Bell Tower.

Bell Tower & Wheel of Perth

I like this pit of sand because the flowers can be seen sprouting on it

Harbour near Bell Tower

Some random shots at Bell Tower

Let's buy some bubble milk tea (Thanks, Soon. I'm addicted to bubble milk tea again after stop drinking for more than 6 months). I'm thirsty. For anyone of you who wish to buy souvenirs, you can do so here. But you have to walk around and do some survey before buying due to the price differences. Well, if you're lazy to walk and survey, you can straight away buy, of course! Just don't start hitting your chest (am dap) if you find a cheaper one.

My results

Are you done buying? We've been spending money for the past 2 hours. If you're done, then we'll go to Harbour Town for some outlet shopping. By the way, there's this shuttle service which provides free ride around the city, which they call as red, blue and yellow cats. Yes, you read me right. It's FREE! Previously, our RapidKL also offered bus rides for RM2 per day. Similar but not exactly the same as we still have to pay for the RM2. But now even worse. It's been abolished and changed to RM2 per ride. Damn!

Ok, coming back to our free ride here. I'm not sure which cat to take. Hold on a second. Let's ask the boss of the souvenir shop. He said take the red cat from here and get off at the next stop. Then take the BULU cat (it's actually BLUE cat but I don't know why on earth he pronounced as BULU instead...ROFL) and get off after 2 stops. Then take the yellow cat and you will reach Harbour Town. Hahaha! So now we'll take the red, BULU and yellow cat, ok? Let's go!

Harbour Town. That's mom with our souvenirs

There are a lot of branded outlets here like NIKE, ADIDAS, FILA, ESPRIT, JAY JAYS and PORTMANS, just to name a few. Wow...the jeans are so cheap. So are the shirts! I go try first ... hehehe. And the result, ......

A pair of Dotti jeans for AUD10 and Jay Jays shirt for AUD7.50. Freaking cheap!

It's 5pm now. The shops are closing down. Pay for your last stuff and we'll go to buy some roasted pork, duck, chicken and BBQ pork at Good Fortune for dinner tonight. Let's walk over the street to Soon's eldest sis' office. She'll be driving us home.

Near her office

Alright. I'm tired of tour guiding for the whole day. Guess I'll call it a day. See you in my next stop! Cheers!~~~

Perth Getaway Season 3

We visited the famous Aussie mascots on the second day. Yeah, I was referring to kangaroos and koalas. We went to Marapana Wildlife World, which houses a wide variety of animals. Be patient, dear. I will show you the animals as I blog along, okies? They were really cute and some were ... erm... funny and hideous.

Ok, here we go. The entrance fee was AUD16 for adult and it included a small bucket of animal snacks for you to feed the beasts. The first thing we saw as we entered the park was Mr and Mrs Koala with their newborn baby koala.

Family picture of the koalas. Did you notice Mrs koala hugging baby koala? Yes? Good. No? Go have your eyes checked then.
Koala series. Koala bears sleep for 20 hours per day and their staple food is Eucalyptus. Yes you read me right. They eat 桉樹
Pretty koala keeper giving a briefing. And we managed to take a snap with her.
Faster please. I'm scared!
They can defecate even when sleeping. Their shit is small in size and green in colour. Gross? Oh well. That's me.
A pathetic-looking lamb
I have no idea how it got up there
Careful. They bite. You don't wanna lose a finger.
This big darling here suddenly appeared from nowhere
This cute & round chicken with a boot-cut jeans looking feet seemed lost

Next, I want to introduce you to a very funny animal. Llama (Soon's best friends) :P
I gotta tell you these things here are really great posers
Didn't I tell you that they are great posers? See what I meant now?
Can you see what are these? This field is full of shits. A mixture of Llama, goat and kangaroo shits. Luckily they were dried. Or else it must be very fragrant.
That's Soony feeding the boar and sows. The boar made its way through and snorted out loud while Soony was feeding the sows. And she actually scolded the boar as if it could understand her language. Good job, Soony!
You will not find any photos of me feeding any of the creatures. I couldn't stand the feeling of their wet noses and mouths touching my hands as they gobble down their food gluttonously. Eeewww... Did I tell you I'm freaked out by furry things which can move?
Jump, you lazy bums. Don't lan yau ying there!

After spending the morning of animal chasing, we needed to recharge ourselves and thus, we bought some Hungry Jack's burgers and ate in the car (to save time). Our next destination was Cottesloe a.k.a Scarborough Beach. I became numb being blown by the strong sea breeze. The beach here was very clean and sandy. I repeat, SANDY and not pebbly beaches as you can see somewhere else. The air was so refreshing!

We then went to buy the famous apple strudle and went shopping in Belmont. In the evening, we took Snaga out for an evening stroll. Normally, we will see the dog being led by the owner. But for Soon's case, it's totally the opposite. LOL! Snaga would get hyper excited when it sees another dog or even a passer by.

Apple strudle. Delicious!
Snaga is very afraid of passing drain and Soon has to carry the 13kg dog everytime there's a drain. Haha! Sorry, Soon. I have to post your photos but don't worry. It's very small and unclear. It's not ugly by the way. It's cute. Hehehe... When she notice the camera lens and the shutter was about to be pressed, she would flung the dog all the way to the other side, thus protecting the dog's face but exposing her own. Haha!

We had Vietnamese cuisine for dinner in ... erm ... I forgot the name of the restaurant. Anyway, the food was tasty too. After dinner, we went to Burswood Casino, which is Soon's favourite place! Once inside, Soon darted immediately to the Blackjack table, without wasting any time. You know, time is very precious for her. Haha! Mom also gambled a little (AUD50) and won AUD35. That would be RM105. LOL! Happy. I'm not a gambler. So I'm easily contented.

Soon's favourite place

We went home at around 10pm. And did I tell you that Perth has no night life? The residents here live a very relaxed life and normally would just stay at home during the night. So, the night is not young anymore for me in Perth. Believe it or not, I slept at 10.30pm in Perth. Unbelievable? Well, it's true though.

I'm tired of blogging today. Guess I'll just stop here. I will be taking you to Perth City in my coming blog. So stay tuned! Nitey nite...

BOO!
