This week was considered as a rather out of ordinary week for me. Why so? First, because my mom came. Second, because I went to the hot air balloon fiesta and third, I had a gathering and shopping session with a long-time-no-see friend.
Let me review some of this week's highlights. Monday started out as the usual most dreadful day of the week. Urggghhh! I hate weekdays! My mom came all the way from Sabah on Tuesday. The fun starts now. My aunt came over for a sleep-over for 3 nights to accompany my mom. That's sweet! Being a family-wide recognized shameless joker, my aunt brought a lot of laughters to the family. LOL! Because of my mom and her, my weekday were not as boring and deadly as they used to be.
Then Friday finally arrived. I went to Mid Valley with my mom and brother for dinner. There were some interesting decorations in Mid Valley with the theme Alice in the Wonderland. So, we grabbed our chance to freeze some moments. However, the place was damn crowded! We then shopped around before having our dinner at a Taiwanese Restaurant (Fong Lye) at the Gardens. You can usually see customers occupying the waiting lounge outside the restaurant, waiting to be seated. In fact, I had never seen the waiting lounge empty. This proves the food must be good and thus, we decided to give it a try. The food were nice, as expected. I shall make a second visit again in the future... After dinner, we continue shopping for dad's pressie....
On Saturday, I went to the second international hot air balloon fiesta at Putrajaya with my brother (Tony), Yang Lin (YL), Chin Hong (CH) and Chan Yoon (CY). After fetching my mom to KL Sentral, we (Tony and I) picked up YL from there. She still hasn't change a bit despite haven't seen her for over a year since completed our FYP last year. Still as crazy as usual. Well, maybe a bit more hyperactive. CH drove my brother, YL and I to Sri Petaling at around 5pm to meet CY. All of us then hopped into CY's larger car to go to Putrajaya....wee~ On the way there, the whole car was filled with monkeys chattering and devil laughters. Sound pollution, wei. Once we reached Putrajaya, we were stucked in a smoking traffic jam for about 30 minutes. We then parked the car along the road and walked all the way to Precinct 2 where the balloons were set. It was a long walk. But I didn't feel tiring. In fact, it was fun walking along with the crowd. We camwhored along the journey until the balloons were in sight. Here are some of the shots.
The whole place was so so so crowded. This year, there was 19 hot air balloons from participating countries around the world such as Malaysia, Japan, the Netherlands, Korea and Switzerland, just to name a few. There were also booths for selling foods, drinks and souvenirs. I didn't manage to get nice shots of night scenes with my camera *sigh*. Anyway, after about 2 hours of photoshooting, we went food hunting. Nothing much to eat. The queue for mobile KFC and Pizza Hut was longer than the longest dragon. So, we (Tony, YL, CY and I) went to buy drinks instead while CH brought his own food and drink and picnic along the street.
After resting, we then walked all the way back to the bridge to get a good spot for firework at 9pm. Once we reached, the bridge was already crowded with people. Photographers were seen busy setting up their tripods. The same goes for our 3 "ciplak" photographers. The firework was awesome but too short. It only lasted for 10 minutes *sigh*. I figured I couldn't get nice night shots. So, the clever me recorded 2 videos of fireworks for your review.
We thought there would be some more firework but after waiting for about 20 minutes, nothing happened and every one started to go home. The balloons also started to fall one by one. Feeling disappointed by the short firework display, we went home too, unwillingly. We then had our dinner at Sri Petaling Old Town before CH fetched us (Tony, YL and I) back. Yeap, YL bunked in my place for the night as it was too late for the pretty girl to go home alone.
Today, I went to Mid Valley (yes, again) with YL. We traveled there by KTM. The first train was so damn packed and we couldn't get in. So, we gave up and waited for the next train for about 25 minutes. How nice! *Sigh* Malaysian transport system....
We were already starving by the time we reached. YL, who tried to be a God by skipping dinner last night finally felt hungry and she suggested to have Korean brunch. I'm on, for sure! Thus, we went to Gu Gong in the Gardens and had our brunch. We were the only 2 at that time, perhaps it was still early (12pm something). This was my first time having a Korean meal in KL and I have to say this restaurant serves very nice Korean cuisine indeed. Yummmmmmy!!! Thumbs up! I'll be back...soon, for sure!We ordered Kim Chi Jji Gae with chicken and beef for YL and I, respectively. The hot pot was very hot....as in steamy hot and spicy hot. But overall, it was really nice!
We felt so bulemic after the meal. An absolutely satiating and hearty meal. We then walked around and continued to camwhore in the so called Wonderland. YL tried to self capture but never realized that she had actually zoomed in. So, when both of us were already posing and squating in front of the mushrooms, the people in front of us kept staring at us. We thought to ourselves, "What the heck are they looking at?" Then we took a look at our 'result'. Oh my dear Lord! The zoomed in picture was damn funny! No wonder people kept staring at us. They must have thought what are these 2 idiots doing. LOL!!!!!
We then loitered around and went to some gift shops but bought nothing. At around 3.30pm, we both felt tired and sleepy. So, we decided to go home. Something awkward happened in the KTM. As usual, the KTM was very much crowded, stuffy and the passengers were sardin-packed. I squeezed myself in and managed to find myself a pole to hold on to. Everyone was standing so close and breathing on each other's necks! Eewww! A girl, around my age, I think, stood next to me and suddenly asked, " Can I hold on to you?" I suddenly felt very funny and at the same time, weird. And I replied, "OK". I couldn't say "No, you cant", could I?
So, the train started moving and all the passengers started shaking back and forth. At first, I thought she meant she wanna hold on to my clothes or bag or whatever. But I was wrong! So wrong! The girl wasn't holding onto my clothes nor my bag as I had expected, but more so, she was really holding onto 'ME'!! She was actually hugging me around my waist!!! What the.....I felt really awkward and uneasy but there's still a long, sweet ride before reaching my station! HOW???!!! I couldn't say can you please let go of me, right? (Though I really wanted to). Haiz....just suck it up la. Lucky though she's pretty....LOL! WTH! Sound so lesbish...
Anyway, there goes my fantastic weekend. I'm now grieving again to welcome a new week. Hopefully this will be an exciting week as well. Alright guys, wanna pen off now. See you in the next post. Ciao~~~
